As a filmmaker from Detroit branching into an artistic industry where i also dont see many Black folks, its always inspiring seeing my ppl come from the hood & branch into white dominated spaces & make their own stories. Salute to this man teaching himself to snowboard & helping other Black snowboarders get highlighted, thats leadership. Props on featuring him, so important.

Love seeing Black folks shine in these kind of spaces, and props to his mom being so supportive too.

When a creep who worked for the parks dept. was passively aggressively preventing her and a young white female from doing tricks on the Garibaldi statue my wife very concerned for them alerted me of the situation. I calmly respectfully asked the guy to move he REFUSED. I borrowed her skateboard and timidly and slowly skated past the guy who viciously attacked me with a metal cane. I responded in self defense hitting him immediately with her skateboard, the guy rebounded and chased me swinging the cane I successfully stopped him again with her skateboard. He stopped and dropped. I handed her the skateboard. And asked begged and pleaded with her to stick around to corroborate the sequence of events as proof of my OBVIOUS INNOCENCE in protection of her and her female partner. She declined and left. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW I was arrested days later and for five years was facing 7 years in prison. Hung Jury and then outright dismissal dec 6 2024. although this occurred in2019. Prior to trial I happened to see her in union square. I put her on the phone with my lawyer and again she declined. I Am an artist musician. The artist community doesn’t need her 😂. What she called toxic masculinity was her protection that she showed ABSOLUTELY NO APPRECIATION FOR. Allah is good and I just want to thank the jurors who saw this creep for who he was as the others were blatantly racist. I will never see her as a representative of black anything besides a TOTAL SELL OUT

What does skiing and snowboarding have to do with your sexual preference. Just go ski/ride and enjoy the mountains for what they are. The mountain doesn’t care who you love or how you love them.

Lucy has been the biggest inspiration for me when it comes to careers as a creative. I really like her approach of doing what you want to be doing instead of looking for the thing your meant to be doing (one could argue they're the same thing but mentally it definitely makes a difference which of these mindsets you have). It's hard figuring out what kind of career path to take as young person, at least that's my experience, but seeing her work has genuinely been the thing that has given me enough courage to dare pursuing a creative career!
